BumbleBee's Rolling Sub-frame My son came over and helped me put all this together. Looks a lot different than a bunch of painted parts laying around loose on the floor.
BumbleBee's Rolling Sub-frame My son and i matched everything up to the old parts and the wheels look pretty straight even under no load.
BumbleBee's Rolling Sub-frame All the fasteners for the steering linkage and ball joints were torqued to spec. The control arms have not been torqued yet because they recommend the vehical be at normal ride height to prevent excessive stress on the bushing material.
BumbleBee's Rolling Sub-frame I made new stainless steel brake lines for the front wheels. I also used braded stainless steel brake hose for the calipers. The calipers and brakes have not been installed yet so it would be easier to roll around.
BumbleBee's Rolling Sub-frame Here you can see the stainless steel brake line. It fits pretty good and looks sharp...but will never be seen again.
BumbleBee's Rolling Sub-frame Overall rear view and i still have to fabricate the driver's side brake line and install the hose bracket.
BumbleBee's Rolling Sub-frame This is the brake line strain relief. It will connect to the proportioning valve and to prevent work hardening this strain relief will adsorb the flexing between the body and chassis.
BumbleBee's Rolling Sub-frame Starting to look like something mean.
BumbleBee's Rolling Sub-frame Even with the engine and transmission mounted this thing rolls soooo easy.
BumbleBee's Rolling Sub-frame In this shot you can see the custom made range selector and shift cable brackets that I made. They are the two small black brackets in the middle bottom of the transmission.
BumbleBee's Rolling Sub-frame This is my 4L60e transmission and dipstick tube. It is way closer to the air clearner than I thought. It Still looks cool though.
BumbleBee's Rolling Sub-frame The engine and transmission color matches pretty well.
BumbleBee's Rolling Sub-frame Here the headers are installed and it's a pretty tight fit. Tune-ups won't be easy thats for sure.
BumbleBee's Rolling Sub-frame Passenger side header still a tight fit.
BumbleBee's Rolling Sub-frame Top view of the driver's side header...tight, tight, tight.
BumbleBee's Rolling Sub-frame Top view of the passenger's side header...still tightfrom this angle.
BumbleBee's Rolling Sub-frame Electrical connection for the computer controls of the 4L60e transmission.
BumbleBee's Big Smile Bee looks happy. I think my smile was just as big. Just look at that it is so cool.
BumbleBee's Rolling Sub-frame Almost ready to start it up.
BumbleBee's Rolling Sub-frame Very clean lay out and plenty of room between the engine and the cooling fans.
BumbleBee's Rolling Sub-frame I still have to tube up the power steering return line. It's a 1991 power steering pump so the return line is in a differnt place than the original 1977 pump. That means a custom return line.
BumbleBee's Rolling Sub-frame I need to wire the fans and run transmission cooler lines. Add all the fluids check for leaks and do a test start. I can't wait to get it done now.
