This is what the shifter looks like with the shift detent removed. Near Low 1 is where one of the two rivets for the detent plate was located. The lower hole (of the two) is where the rivet was.

4 Speed Auto Shifter Mod This is the rivet drill location (lower of the two) for the park position of the detent. These are the detents. On the top is the original 3 Speed Detent and on the bottom is the new 4 Speed detent (that I made). The shifter detent prevents inadvertent gear changes.

Not bad for 6 dollars worth of steel, die grinder, and dremel tool. Gotta make linkage to drive the neutral safety switch and dash indicator next...more to follow.
